Murphysboro man pleads guilty to attacking ex-wife, punching bar patron
JACKSON COUNTY, Ill. - A Murphysboro man entered guilty pleas in connection with two unrelated incidents, including one in which he attacked his ex-wife.
Jackson County State's Attorney Michael C. Carr says 28-year-old Benjamin Wright pleaded guilty to an Aggravated Domestic Battery charge stemming from an August 23 incident in which he caused his ex-wife to have a broken nose, loose teeth and glass shards in her skin.
Wright also pleaded guilty to an Aggravated Battery charge for punching a patron at the Da-Nite Tavern on June 29.
A judge sentenced Wright to two consecutive terms totaling seven years in prison.
