MUDDY, Ill. - An ambulance rushed a woman to the hospital after she drove her car into a southern Illinois bowling alley.

It happened in Muddy just after 1 a.m. Friday.

83-year-old Betty Reed told Saline County Sheriff's deputies that she was slowing to avoid another vehicle when she mistankingly hit the accelerator.  She took out two signs and a pole before crashing into the Ross Cottom Lanes bowling alley.

Reed was taken to Harrisburg Medical Center and was later transferred to St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville, Indiana with an arm injry.

No one else was hurt.

The accident is still under investigation.
