Police looking for hit and run culprit

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Police in Carbondale, Illinois are looking for the driver who hit a pedestrian and then drove away.

It happened in the 1100 block of South Wall Street on September 8.

Police say the victim was crossing South Wall in a pedestrian crosswalk when the the victim was hit.  Afterward, the driver sped away without stopping.

The suspect vehicle is described as a white, 4-door vehicle which resembles a Ford Focus between model years 2000 to 2007. The vehicle was last seen heading east on East Park Street from South Wall Street. It sustained body damage to the front of the vehicle.

The victim was rushed to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, was treated and released with non-life threatening injuries.
