Reward offered in knife and jewelry burglary case

POPE COUNTY, Ill. - The Pope County Sheriff is requesting your help concerning a recent burglary in Northwest Pope County.

It happened on December 4th between 7:30 and 10:00 a.m. A subject or subjects entered a home and took several hundred dollars worth of jewelry and a knife collection. It was determined by the owners that several pieces of jewelry were taken, many of which were heirlooms from family members.

Several yellow handle knives were taken from a 400 piece collection.

Sheriff Jerry Suits stated there are no leads in the case at this time. A reward is being offered by the sheriff for the arrest and conviction of the subject or subjects who committed the crime.
