EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) - The Madison County coroner says an autopsy on a Southern Illinois University student whose body was found in her housing unit on the Edwardsville campus failed to show why she died.

Steve Nonn says the body of Tifani Wilder was found Thursday, after officers responded to a call from the mother of the 24-year-old woman's boyfriend to check on Wilder's well-being.

Nonn says Wilder's 5-year-old son was found in the apartment unharmed.

Campus police say Wilder's death doesn't appear suspicious, and that there was no sign anyone forced their way into the apartment.

Wilder was a junior majoring in psychology.

The university's housing staff was caring for the boy on Friday until state child-welfare workers or a relative could take custody.

Lab tests on samples of Wilder's blood are pending.
