SIU Presidential Search Advisory Committee held first meeting

 CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University Presidential Search Advisory Committee held its first meeting today.

The SIU Board of Trustees established the committee this past September.

The Committee discussed organizational issues, met via video conference with William Funk, the search consultant employed by the SIU Board of Trustees.

Participation was encouraged by the members of the committee by SIU Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees and Chair of the Presidential Search Advisory Committee, Dr. Donna Manering.

Dr. Manering said, "we seek the most qualified candidate who will be ready and eager to meet the challenges of this University."

The SIU Board of Trustees will also host an open forum meeting 11:30 a.m. November 14th in the Conference Center of the Morris University Center. The Committee will then meet later that day at 1 p.m. in Edwardsville in the University Club of the Morris University Center.

A similar open forum meeting will take place at 11:30 a.m. December 12th in Ballroom B of the SIUC Student Center.
