CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) - Southern Illinois University's executive board has hired a Texas firm to help the school find a new president.
WSIU radio reports the board approved a partnership Wednesday with R. William Funk and Associates of Dallas. The firm's specialty is higher education.
The board also selected 20 people to serve on the school's Presidential Search Advisory Committee. Those appointees include faculty, staff, students and community members.
The university is looking for a successor to Glenn Poshard. Poshard announced in July that he plans to retire June 30 of next year, even though his contract expires in 2015.
