BENTON, Ill. - Murder charges have been filed against a southern Illinois man who was arrested in connection with a fatal shooting.

Franklin County State's Attorney Evan Owens says that charges were formally filed against 39-year-old Donald A. Lee on Tuesday concerning the death of 23-year-old Brittany Andrews.

Lee was arrested Monday and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon. He is now charged with two counts of 1st Degree Murder and Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapons by a Convicted Felon.

Lee is in jail on $2 million bond.

The investigation began Friday night when police responded to the parking lot of Vickee's Card Shop on East Main Street in Benton, Illinois. That's where they found Andrews with a gunshot wound to her head. She later died at a hospital.
