MARION, Ill. - Illinois State Police Trooper David Sneed says a tractor trailer fire temporarily shut down a portion of interstate 57 in Franklin County.

Sneed says the accident happened around 9am Saturday and one of the northbound lanes was closed, but it was re-opened just after 11:30am.

Sneed believes the fire was caused from the hot brakes on the trailer.  No one was hurt in the fire and it didn't involve any other vehicles.

Traffic is now back open in both northbound lanes.
