WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. - A couple of suspected burglars tried to run and hide from lawmen in Williamson County, Illinois and failed.  That's according to the Williamson County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies charged 26-year-old Christopher Keeling and 25-year-old Jerry Miller with burglary.

Just before 8:00 Monday morning, deputies responded to a call at Four Star Arena on Route 166, north of Creal Springs.  A person there told investigators that the building looked burglarized.

As deputies searched the building, two men ran from its rear and into a nearby woodline.

A canine unit tracked the two suspects.  The canine found one hiding in a pasture north of the building.  Deputies say they found the other hiding Saline Creek.

During the search, investigators found several backpacks with items allegedly belonging to the Four Star Arena.

After their arrest, deputies took Keeling and Miller to the Williamson County Jail.  Bond for the men is $3,000 cash each.
