International Isotopes Inc. and Advanced Process Technology Systems, LLC have joined forces to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) in the USEC plant to the U.S. Department of Energy.

The companies' plan includes the retention of 600-700 employees and operation of the plant for a minimum of five years. More than 1,200 people are currently employed at the plant.

The proposal also includes the utilization of some of the existing uranium material at the plant.
