MAYFIELD, Ky. - A 71 year-old Mayfield resident has been arrested for assault and unlawful imprisonment.

It happened at 1504 Carter Road in Mayfield on Sunday, December 8th. Charles Olson allegedly got upset with his live in girlfriend's daughter over an incident with her children. He allegedly went to hit the daughter, and his girlfriend attempted to stop him.

Olson then went into his bedroom and retrieved a pistol, instructing them to sit down while they argued. When his girlfriend told Olson she would call the police, he allegedly told her that "they would all be dead before the police got there."

Olson's girlfriend, her daughter, and her granddaughter all left the residence the next morning and went to stay with a family member. One of the family members called the Sheriff's Office to report the incident.

Graves County Sheriff's Deputies obtained warrants for Olson's arrest. He was charged with 3 counts of unlawful imprisonment, three counts of wanton endangerment, 2 counts of terroristic threatening, and 1 count of assault.

He is being lodged in the Graves County Jail where he will remain pending bond.
