8-year-old Paducah girl struck by car, incident under investigation
PADUCAH, Ky. - An 8-year-old Paducah girl is hospitalized in Nashville after she was struck by a car while riding a bicycle.
Kentucky State Police say the incident occurred Wednesday evening on Illinois Street in Lone Oak. KSP says Alana Haynes was riding her bicycle when a car driven by 23-year-old Robert Marshall hit Haynes before coming to a stop at a nearby intersection.
Haynes was taken to Lourdes in Paducah, then flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. Her injuries are not life-threatening.
The crash remains under investigation. KSP says it is not yet clear why Marshall struck Hayes.
