PADUCAH, Ky. - Simplified, elegant and most importantly American.  That is the philosophy a new company stands by, supporting the local economy and bringing potentially hundreds of jobs to the area.

Creative Eye American Apparel makes private clothing brands such as "Sweet Pea" for big retailers including Macy's and Wal-Mart. Over the last two decades, 77 percent of the American work force has been lost because companies have moved jobs overseas.  Business Development Director Raj Singh wanted to change that.  Growing up in Kentucky, he decided to start his own business and bring it back to a local community.  His company, Creative Eye American Apparel is bringing about 50 to 100 jobs to the area.

With high hopes, they are already considering expanding and expansion means a couple hundred new jobs.

Creative Eye American Apparel Assistant Project Manager Connie Morris said the company makes outfits for women, children, men and adolescents.

Singh said the company will continue to grow, they just need workers.

"Our capacity of designing is unlimited. The creativity can never have a boundary.  Having a good pool of workers can help us put the good product out," said Singh.

Singh grew up in Kentucky and moving his business to the area was not coincidental.

"Paducah is so centrally located where we have some of the big buyers and corporate headquarters situated in our back yard," said Singh.

Morris said she thinks the company has a bright future with outfits the entire family will love.

"There's tons of bright colors, patterns, kids will love them, you can spin in the dresses parents like them, they're easily washable," said Morris.

Creative Eye American Apparel will have its grand opening ribbon cutting the first week of November. Singh said the company is ready to start making clothes, they just need employees.

With companies bringing new jobs to the area, hundreds of positions need to be filled. The Emerging Technology Center is having a job fair next Tuesday, October 15 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the campus of West Kentucky Community and Technical College.

You are invited to stop by if you are looking for work.  The starting wage for positions at Creative Eye American Apparel is $11.

Workforce Solutions Manager of Manufacturing Steve Remy said it is a blessing these businesses are bringing jobs to the area.

Remy said you do not need any previous experience to apply for the positions.

"It requires somebody that doesn't mind sitting and using their hands and being very tedious and also love to do quality with their fingers. It's not just hand-eye, it's also finger, hand and eye," said Remy.

Workforce solutions is offering four weeks of training to everyone selected for these positions.
