PADUCAH — Attorney Will Kautz confirms to Local 6 that his client, Anita Roach, has been released from jail for good behavior and time served.

Roach is the former bus driver a jury found guilty of reckless homicide in the 2011Carlisle County bus crash that killed 6 year-old Logan Simpson.

Kautz said several factors were involved in Roach's release. One factor is that Roach was put on home confinement with an ankle monitoring system for more than 200 days leading up to her trial. During that time she exhibited good behavior and followed all the rules of her home confinement.

Another factor is that after a jury found her guilty of reckless homicide she served approximately 22 days in jail.

A judge had sentenced Roach to one year in prison following the conclusion of the trial.
