WICKLIFFE, Ky. - The Ballard County Sheriff's Office is asking for your help in tracking down the suspect of a burglary.

It happened on January 17th at approximately 5:15 in the morning. The owner of the home on Martin Road in Wickliffe, Kentucky, heard an alarm from his motion detector, and his wife dialed 911. He then went to the garage and got into a scuffle with the burglar, who managed to get away.

Deputies found tools, a stocking hat, and a red and checkered scarf left behind at the scene. The tools were carried in a canvas bag along with a baby blanket. The thief had potential tools to be stolen piled up in the floor of the garage, and surveillance video shows the thief crouching down in the garage once he knew or heard the homeowner outside.

He is described as a white male, 5'9", with brown hair. He should also have bruising on his right temple where the homeowner hit him.

If anyone has any information on this crime, they are urged to call the Ballard County Sheriff's Office. Ballard County Sheriff Todd Cooper has said that a $1,000 reward is being offered by the homeowner for any information that leads to the arrest and convinction of the person involved.
