MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky. - A new development in the investigation surrounding a former youth director and his alleged relationship with a juvenile.  Kentucky State Police say they've arrested his brother.

On Friday, 36-year-old Theodore F. Byars was charged with 3rd degree unlawful transaction with a minor.  Theodore is 32-year-old Robert L. Byars' brother.  Robert was also charged with 3rd degree unlawful transaction with a minor.

While Robert was in jail at the Marshall County Detention Center, state troopers say he wrote sexually explicit letters to a juvenile and gave those to his brother, Theodore.  Theodore then took the letters to the juvenile.

In the letters, troopers say Robert asked the juvenile to meet him after his release from jail.

Both Byars are in custody at the Marshall County Detention Center.

On July 1, Kentucky State Police arrested Robert Byars and charged him with 15 counts of 1st degree unlawful transaction with a minor, five counts of 3rd degree sodomy and five counts of 3rd degree rape.

The crimes allegedly happened while he was a youth director at Walnut Baptist Church in Benton, Kentucky.
