Calvert City woman faces DUI, drug charges
PADUCAH, Ky. - A Calvert City woman faces DUI and drug charges after a traffic stop in Paducah.
McCracken County deputies arrested 50-year-old Debra Reed on Tuesday afternoon after pulling her over on South 3rd St. near the intersection of Elizabeth St.
Detectives say Reed was under the influence of controlled substances at the time of the stop. Reed was arrested for DUI after failing field sobriety tests. A search of her purse turned up methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, Hydrocodone, Xanax, Diazepam, marijuana and cash believed to have come from drug sales.
During the investigation, detectives with the Marshall County Sheriff's Department obtained a search warrant for Reed's Calvert City home. A search of the home on Tuesday evening led to the seizure of more methamphetamine and "other items indicative of drug trafficking," according to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department.
Reed is in the McCracken County Jail and is charged with DUI, Possession of a 1st degree controlled substance-Methamphetamine 2nd offense, possession of a 2nd degree controlled substance-Lortab, possession of a 3rd degree controlled substance-Xanax, possession of a 3rd degree controlled substance-Diazepam, possession of Marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Additional charges against Reed in Marshall County are pending.
