County, city officials considering disaster declaration following weekend storms
PADUCAH, Ky. - Much of the Local 6 area dealt with some of the worst flash flooding in more than 20 years over the weekend. Now McCracken County and City of Paducah officials say they are considering declaring a disaster.
Road department crews in McCracken County will now figure out how much money it will take to do repair work this week in the aftermath of the storms. County and city officials will then consider a disaster declaration.
Paul Carter with McCracken County Emergency Management says if the damage meets a certain threshold, assistance from FEMA will kick in.
