Crash causes power outage at Murray State

MURRAY STATE, Ky. - A crash near Murray State University, Friday darkened some on-campus buildings.

Murray Electric says a car hit a power pole on North 16th Street and broke it.

The buildings impacted by the power outage include:

Faculty Club House

Facilities Management

Franklin Hall

General Services

Heritage Hall

Mason Hall

Old Richmond


Public Safety

Ruby Simpson Child Care

Stewart Stadium

Waterfield Library

University officials say the power outage didn't impact final exams.  Most of those are complete.  Faculty rescheduled finals originally planned for later in the day.

Power for off-campus customers was not affected by the crash.
