PADUCAH - A night of revelry could turn into an expensive one real quick. A conviction for driving under the influence could cost $10,000.

First offenses include:

    • $375 - State service fee
    • $160 - court costs
    • $200 - $500 ticket price
    • $90-$250 - DUI treatment courses

You'll also lose your license for 30 - 120 days and spend 1 night in jail.

Second offense:

  • Same state service fee and court costs plus...
  • $350 - $500 - ticket price
  • $250 - $500 - DUI treatment courses

You'll also lose your license for 30-120 days and spend 1 night in jail.

Third offense:

  • Same state service fee and court costs plus...
  • $500 - $1,000 - ticket price
  • $400 - $800 - DUI treatment courses

You'll also lose your license for 24 - 36 months and spend 1 night in jail.

Fourth offense is a Class D felony:

  • Same state service fee and court costs plus...
  • $1,000 - $10,000 ticket price
  • $500 - $1,000 - DUI treatment courses

You'll also lose your license for 5 years and spend 1-5 years in jail.

Prices that's don't change based on number of offenses:

  • $100 - towing fee (plus $30 a day for every day it sits at tow station)
  • $500 - $6,000 attorney fees

Even more sobering is the fact that New Year's Eve is the second deadliest night on the road. On this night last year, DUI drivers accounted for 70 fatalities nationwide, according to Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
