GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. — Investigators said two people behind a 20 state crime spree are in a local jail and an unusual piece of evidence links them to the crimes.

Forging checks, stealing property and doing drugs is what investigators said a duo spent time doing while travelling across parts of the United States.

Graves County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Kelly Gustin and Christina Snowden on a number of charges after trying to hitch a ride in the small town of Sedalia.

The deputies caught up with Gustin and Snowden who immediately started confessing to crimes all across the country, and had a map to prove it.

They've been in Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Nebraska just to name a few.

Investigators said while it's not unusual for people to confess, what is strange is to have a record of where they committed the crimes.

"From time to time you do find criminals who do leave bread crumbs, trails like that if you will, of their criminal activities," Chief Deputy Ramage said.

The Graves County Chief Deputy told Local 6 that Christina Snowden claims she was abducted and forced to commit these crimes. Right now, investigators say there's no evidence to support that claim.

The two reportedly admitted to committing other crimes including high-speed chases in Colorado and South Carolina.

They were getting by on some stolen blank checks and are believed to originally be from Maryland.

The two will later be extradited back to the other states where they face charges.

Investigators said the two also admitted to stealing a car from Mayfield and wrecking it in Calloway County before winding up in Graves County.
