Fire crews battle flames that rip through building

UPDATE

MAYFIELD, Ky. — A Local 6 Photojournalist at the scene of the fire tells us that while the Myers family of Myers Lumber Company owns the building that caught fire, it is not the lumber company itself. 

It was a empty building that used to be the city's old bus station.

MAYFIELD, Ky. — Fire crews are responding to a fire at Myers Lumber Company in Mayfield.

Witnesses say they heard an explosion at the facility on Broadway just before 1pm.  The cause of the fire is unknown. 

People are being urged to stay away from the area as crews put out the fire.
