MAYFIELD, Ky. — Fire ripped through a building on Broadway around 12:30p.m. Saturday in Mayfield.

The building has been empty for roughly six to eight months and is owned by the Myers family, but the building that caught fire was not Myers Lumber Company.
Robert Jones runs barber shop across the street from where the building is located and recalled the moment he knew something was wrong.
"I heard a lot of popping. It sounded like an old record playing but it was really really loud and I opened the door and the flames just started shooting out the back of the building," Jones said.
No one was injured and it's not clear what sparked the fire.  The case  is under investigation.
