MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky. - The Marshall County Fiscal Court will hire Louisville Attorney Kent Wicker to issue a legal opinion on the court's ethics complaint regarding a former county employee's departure.

The court was told previously the employee retired, but the employee started claiming unemployment benefits the day before his retirement party.

Judge Executive Mike Miller is the one who signed the separation papers.

It was a full house at Tuesday's special fiscal court meeting.

Several people expressed their concern with the price to hire Wicker, which is $300 an hour.
The county's attorney says that will have to come from the general fund.

Edwards says the investigation will be handled quickly.
