PADUCAH, Ky.— Those of you who have been out and about have probably noticed the orange barrels are back. They're causing significant traffic backups in work zones along Interstate 24 because of heavy holiday traffic.
The work zones are back up on I-24 between the 10 and 16 mile maker in McCracken County and between the 38 and 45 mile marker in Lyon County.
We've had reports of traffic is moving at less than 25 miles per hour at some points in both work zones. The transportation cabinet is asking local motorists to avoid these stretches of highway until around 7:00 Sunday night if possible.
