MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky. - A local hospital received a series of federal grants for staff members using electronic medical records in a meaningful way.

The Marshall County Hospital is one of a few hospitals and doctor offices who received the 'Meaningful Sse Award' from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Director of Information Systems Patrick Waters received the award for the hospital.

The hospital had to meet specific criteria to even apply for the grant.  They actually began receiving grant money in 2011.
