PADUCAH - A Paducah couple was arrested after an early morning fire led to the discovery of a methamphetamine manufacturing operation at their home.

50 year-old Danny Humble and 46 year-old Jerri Bufford were arrested on Monday afternoon after a search warrant was served.

Paducah firefighters were called to the home at 421 Hayes Avenue around 4:00 in the morning. After the scene cooled down several hours later, Paducah Fire Marshal Greg Cherry notified police that firefighters had found some suspicious items in the kitchen of the home.

Operations Division officers notified the Paducah Police Department's Drug and Vice Enforcement Unit, and detectives responded to the scene.

It was determined that they had discovered a meth lab. Detectives found drug paraphernalia in the home, including meth pipes and syringes. Humble also had a plastic container with meth inside in one of his pockets.

Both Humble and Bufford are being held in the McCracken County Jail.
