Leaders of the Kentucky Department of Insurance fined Humana $65,000 claiming the company sent "misleading" letters to policy holders.

The Courier-Journal reports the letters said policy-holders had 30 days to renew their plans or they would have to choose a more expensive option.

Insurance investigators say the letters did not make it clear that policy-holders could wait and compare plans offered by the state's health insurance exchange Kynect.
