Judge denies bond for Fort Knox soldier charged with rape

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (AP) - A Fort Knox soldier charged with raping a woman has been ordered to remain in jail after a judge denied a bond motion.
Attorneys for Sgt. 1st Class Felix M. Ayala sought to have the 25-year military veteran confined to post pending trial. The News-Enterprise reported that Hardin Circuit Judge Ken Howard rejected that request because Ayala's commanding officer wasn't at the hearing Tuesday.
Radcliff police say the woman told officers Ayala provided her alcohol and then raped her after she grew intoxicated.
Ayala is assigned to the Army Cadet Command 1st Brigade.
