KAYSER production worker job fair sees massive turnout

UPDATE (1/29/14): Over 550 people attended the KAYSER Automotive Systems job fair.

391 of the applications received met the advertised requirement of three years of assembly manufacturing experience.

"The people who came out today, weren't just here to fill out an application," said Eddie Crittendon, Executive Director of the Fulton County/Hickman County Economic Development Partnership.


FULTON, Ky - The first phase of the KAYSER Automative Systems job hunt is set to begin tomorrow.

Beginning 11:30-5:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 28th at the Pontotoc Civic Center located at 100 East Stateline Road, the KAYSER Automotive Systems has scheduled a Production Operator Job Fair.

This is where the company will recruit their first group of ten production workers for the automotive manufacturing facility.

Recruitment for additional positions including production workers, etc will take place at a later time as the facility moves toward full production in 60 months.

The company will only currently accept applications for production workers with a minimum of three years manufacturing experience and seeking production assembly positions earning $9.06.

Production workers must be able to work with basic complex automotive parts, to lift 25 pounds and be able to follow written and verbal instruction.

The previously-mentioned requirements only serve as a partial list of all responsibilities listed. 

Paul Ankenbrand, plant manager explains, "applications from those without experienced manufacturing will be taken once the start-up phase is complete, perhaps in the next couple years."
