PADUCAH -- Preparations are underway south of the Ohio River ahead of predicted winter weather.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet crews are pre-treating area highways. They'll be out Saturday putting down salt and brine, and again on Sunday working to clear roads before the extreme cold hits.

They warn that once the temperature falls below 18 degrees, crews will be limited in their ability to improve driving conditions.
