CALDWELL COUNTY, Ky.  - The Local 6 region has something to celebrate tonight, because one of our very own was chosen to be on national television.

Western Kentucky is no stranger to have famous people born in the area: Vice President Alben Barkley and actress Molly Sims are a couple of examples.

Brooke, a sweet and loving dog, will soon become a national star. Dogs have been a part of Hollywood for years, and now she will get to join some of the world's most famous dogs on television.

Candace Hyatt with the Caldwell County Animal Shelter submitted a video to the Puppy Bowl auditions. She said everyone thought she was crazy, but Candace saw something in Brooke, and the Animal Planet agreed.

Brooke will join 65 other shelter puppies during the biggest game of the year -- Puppy Bowl 10. She was escorted to New York City back in October to film the show, and this pup will soon be seen by millions, and those with the Caldwell County Animal Shelter are very excited.

Brooke did not make the starting line up, but she will be featured on some of the commercials and promos during the Puppy Bowl which airs on Animal Planet on February 2nd at 3:00 p.m., the same day as the Super Bowl.

Animal shelter staff notes that she is still up for adoption. If you'd like more information about adopting a pet from the Caldwell County Animal Shelter, you can call (270) 365 - 1000.
