Make memories at Kentucky state parks 2012 Easter egg huntsWESTERN KENTUCKY - Easter is a time for family, and many have fond memories of egg hunts and special treats. Several Kentucky state parks are planning egg hunts and other activities for the April 6-8 weekend.
Kenlake State Resort Park, Aurora The park will host an Easter egg hunt at 2 p.m. on Sunday on the front lawn of the lodge, for children 12 and under. Prizes will be awarded for different age categories. Boat rental and golf are available for additional fees. Call 1-800-325-0143. The park is also offering a package – two nights in the lodge and continental breakfast for two for $89.95. Or try a one-bedroom cottage for two nights and continental breakfast for two for $189.95. The Easter buffet will be offered on Sunday, April 8, from noon to 8 p.m. The cost is $18.49 for adults and $8.49 for children. Lake Barkley State Resort Park, Cadiz Lake Barkley showers the fields with eggs in our Egg-ceptional Egg Hunt beginning at 3 p.m. at the Lake Barkley Fitness Center. The Easter Bunny will make an appearance at 2:30 p.m., so don’t forget your camera! From toddlers to teenagers, bring your baskets and gather some goodies. This egg hunt is sponsored by employees of Lake Barkley State Park and Friends of Lake Barkley SRP Inc. Call 1-800-325-1708. In addition, on April 8, Windows on the Water Restaurant at Lake Barkley State Resort Park will offer its annual Easter buffet from noon until 8 p.m., with choice beef carved on the line, country ham, golden fried catfish, garden veggies and much more.
Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park, Dawson Springs A free Easter egg hunt will be at 2:30 p.m. at the lodge rain or shine. Call 1-800-325-1711 for more details. The annual Easter buffet at Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park will be served from noon to 8 p.m. Easter bunny photos will be at 1:30 p.m. in the lodge ($2 per photo).
