MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. - The McCracken County Sheriff's Department says a man has been charged in connection with two credit card thefts.

Deputies say 42-year-old Richard McKinney, of Princeton, stole Jessica Roberson's credit card from her car in the early morning hours of August 28. That card was used at Walmart on Irvin Cobb Drive in Paducah a short time later.

A second card was stolen on August 31, this time from the vehicle of Angela Wilson in Reidland. Deputies say that card was also used at the Southside Walmart in Paducah.

The sheriff's department says fraudulent charges from both credit cards totaled $564.78.

Tips led to the sheriff's department identifying McKinney as the suspect in the case. Deputies then learned he was already in the Caldwell County Jail in Princeton on charges of assault and probation violation.

McKinney was charged with two counts of Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card Under $500. The Kentucky Probation and Parole Office will seek additional charges for probation violation.
