Mayfield couple in jail after dispute, stabbing
MAYFIELD, Ky. - A Mayfield couple is in jail after police say a dispute ended with a stabbing.
The Mayfield Police Department says Barry and Yolanda Hendley got into a struggle at Yolanda's residence at the Garden Apartments around midnight Sunday. Police say Mrs. Hendley stabbed Mr. Hendley during the altercation.
Mrs. Hendley told police she was assaulted by Mr. Hendley and that there was a court order against Mr. Hendley not to have any contact with her due to a pending domestic violence case.
Detectives also recovered several weapons used during the dispute.
Police determined that Mr. and Mrs. Hendley assaulted each other with the weapons found at the scene. Both were arrested and charged with Assault 2nd Degree (Domestic Violence). Mr. Hendley was also charged with Violation of Conditions of Release, Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place and Disorderly Conduct 2nd Degree.
Mr. Hendley was taken to Jackson Purchase Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries, then released. Both suspects are in the Graves County Detention Center.
