MAYFIELD, Ky. - A Mayfield man is dead after a car crash Monday night.

Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon says 30-year-old Austin Sanderson lost control of his 2008 Chevrolet sedan on KY 58 East. Sheriff Redmon says Sanderson lost control due to a combination of his speed and the wet road conditions.

Redmon says the vehicle went airborne after leaving the right side of the roadway and striking a driveway culvert. After landing, the vehicle rolled several times before stopping in a ditch.

Sanderson, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, was ejected from the vehicle. His body was found about 20 feet away from his car. He was pronounced dead by the Graves County Coroner's Office.

Redmon says alcohol is also suspected to have been a factor in the crash.
