McCracken County Fiscal Court moves one step closer to fixing zoning error
REIDLAND, Ky. - The McCracken County Fiscal Court is one step away from correcting a zoning problem in Reidland, Kentucky.
According to the Paducah Sun, Dragon Fly Hair & Nails was zoned as urban residential more than a decade ago.
Monday night, the Fiscal Court voted to pass the first reading of an ordinance that changed the zoning designation to commercial.
Judge Executive Van Newberry told the newspaper the zoning was inappropriate since other businesses in the area have been zoned correctly for the past 30 years.
A final vote will be taken at the next Fiscal Court meeting on July 22.
Zoning changes can only occur if either the zoning was inappropriate from the start or the area around a building has changed in economic nature.
