MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. - Drivers encountered heavy traffic at the entrance to the new McCracken County High School as the school opened its doors for the first time.

Cars were backed up from one of the entrances all the way out to US 60.

Guards were directing traffic all morning. The steady flow of cars started around 6:45.

Deputy Roger Simmons simply called the traffic "bad."

"I wasn't expecting this, I was expecting it to go a whole lot smoother," Simmons said.

Tonight, Local 6's Mychaela Bruner will look at how the school plans to tackle the traffic problem.
