McCracken County deputies searching for credit card thief
MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. - The McCracken County Sheriff's Department is searching for a man who deputies say stole a local woman's credit card.
Deputies say Jessica Roberson's credit card was stolen from her purse sometime between Tuesday evening and early Wednesday morning. The purse was inside Roberson's car, which deputies say was not locked at the time.
Roberson told deputies that she contacted the credit card company upon finding out that her card had been stolen. She was told that the card had already been used at Walmart on Irvin Cobb Drive in Paducah.
Deputies learned the credit card was used shortly after 1:30 Wednesday morning. The alleged thief was spotted leaving Walmart in a cab, which deputies learned dropped him off on Clarks River Road.
The sheriff's department describes the thief as a white male with a beard wearing shorts, a short sleeve shirt and a baseball cap, all of which were camouflage. He also appeared to be carrying a dark-colored backpack. Deputies believe he got on a tow boat later Wednesday morning.
Anyone with information on the alleged credit card thief is asked to call the McCracken County Sheriff's Department at (270) 444-4719.
