TVA shuts off MSU power, will reassess when to restore
UPDATE: In an effort to save power, TVA their 'interruptable service contract' with Murray State University, and is keeping portions of the campus without power.
An 'interruptable service contract' means that portions of the campus's electricity is under a contract so that TVA can reduce the power by a certain amount if the power provider really needs the power for other parts of the system.
TVA will reassess the situation, but all classes have been cancelled Tuesday, January 7th.
UPDATE: Some students have reported that some residential colleges are without power at this time. A university spokesperson confirmed that a generator has broken down, and is being fixed at this time. They also said if they do not get the generator working in a timely manner, they will relocate students to buildings with power.
