Overgrown grass becoming problem in Paducah
PADUCAH, Ky. - Officials in the city say a lawn over 10 inches is considered a public nuisance. That is why residents with overgrown grass are being issued reminders this week.
Don Pollender lives in the city and next to an overgrown lot. He says he is grateful for the reminder.
"It's a nuisance and it's very frustrating," he said of the adjacent lot.
The city considers it a problem too. Fire Marshall Greg Cherry says last year the city spent some $70,000 on yard maintenance. He says heavy rains are to blame for the tall grass.
To report an overgrown lot, you are asked to call The Paducah Fire Department.
