PADUCAH, Ky. - A Paducah man is in jail after he allegedly robbed another man who was giving him a ride.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department says 25-year-old Casey Rae was walking when he flagged down a car driven by 21-year-old Logan Juell. Rae then asked Juell for a ride to the 100 block of Westhaven Drive.

According to deputies, as the car neared Rae's home, Rae demanded that Juell hand over his money and cell phone. As Juell was getting the money, Rae struck him in the face and ran off with Juell's money and cell phone.

Deputies and Paducah Police officers identified Rae as the suspect and found him in the backyard at 110 Woodcreek Boulevard. Rae fled on foot as officers approached and was arrested about 150 yards from his home.

Rae was charged with felony Robbery 2nd Degree and Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd Degree. He is in the McCracken County Jail.
