Paducah man hospitalized after car hits bicycle
PADUCAH, Ky. - A Paducah man is out of intensive care after he was hit by a car at a local park on Sunday afternoon.
Paducah Police say 55-year-old Dr. Jay Pitman was riding a bicycle in Noble Park when he was hit from behind by an unknown vehicle. A witness said a red, early 2000s model car resembling a Pontiac Grand Prix or an Oldsmobile Alero struck Pitman's bike.
The witness described the driver as a white male with long hair. There was also a white female passenger in the car, and both occupants appeared to be in their mid-20s to early-30s, according to the witness.
Pitman was taken to Baptist Health Paducah's Intensive Care Unit. He is suffering from a brain hemorrhage and was released from the ICU on Monday morning. He remains in the hospital.
