Paving along various routes in Marshall County starting Thursday
A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans asphalt paving along a number of highways in Marshall County starting Thursday, June 6.
Highways scheduled for paving include:
US 68/PADUCAH-AURORA ROAD starting at mile point 18.004 at the KY 962 intersection and extending eastward to the Jonathan Creek Bridge at mile point 22.497, a distance of 4.48 miles.
KY 348/SYMSONIA HIGHWAY starting at mile point 2.250 near Walters Road and extending eastward to Phelps Road at mile point 3.57, a distance of 1.32 miles.
KY 402/AURORA HIGHWAY starting at mile point 9.863 near the Clarks River Bridge and extending eastward to the intersection with KY 962 at mile point 10.167, a distance of 0.30 miles.
The crew plans to start on US 68 on Thursday morning, then move to the other highways.
Motorists should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers. Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and paving personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
Jim Smith Contracting of Grand Rivers is the prime contractor on this $677,155 group paving project. Work on these routes is expected to take about 2 weeks to complete.
