BALLARD COUNTY, Ky. - The body of missing boater Barry Hammonds was found on Big Turner Lake late Sunday night, according to Ballard County Coroner Bob Morrow.

His body was found around 9:00 p.m. near where the initial incident occurred.

The 48-year-old Hammonds from Lovelaceville, Kentucky disappeared into the lake at the Ballard County Refuge late Friday evening.  Hammonds and two others boarded a 12 foot jon boat just before midnight to go star gazing.

"For some unknown reason (Hammonds) stood up in the middle of the boat, and when he did it tipped over and throwed all three of them in to the water," Sgt. Clark added.  "Two were rescued and the third has not been found."

Sgt. Clark wouldn't say whether alcohol played a role in the incident on the lake but said it is being investigated.
