Fatal semi truck rolls over on I-24

UPDATE (9:46 a.m.):

Deputies responded to the semi-accident on Interstate 24 around 10:44 p.m. that left the driver dead on the scene.

Garry D. Brown, 61 of Calvert City was traveling in his semi westbound when he exited the roadway on the right shoulder. 

The semi traveled into the ditch, struct an embankment, and came to rest on a tree.

Brown was pronounced dead on the scene

MARSHALL COUNTY, KY--Marshall County sheriff's deputies reopened Interstate 24 between exits 16 and 25 around 6:00 this morning.

Crews are finished cleaning up the crash scene. Travel in the area should be back to normal.

Update: 2/4 3:26 a.m.

MARSHALL COUNTY, KY -- Marshall County Sheriff's deputies at the scene of this crash say the driver of the truck died. No word this morning on who that driver is.

Deputies say all westbound lanes near the 22 mile marker are still closed to traffic as accident reconstructionists and officers investigate what led up to the crash.

Deputies don't know when the road will reopen and are advising all drivers to take an alternative route this morning. 


MARSHALL COUNTY, KY - A semi truck has turned over and rolled off the road on Interstate 24 in Marshall County, Kentucky.

It happened around the 22 mile marker. The Marshall County Sheriff's Office and rescue workers have responded and are on the scene.

The condition of the driver is not yet known.
