MURRAY, Ky. - The Tennessee Valley Authority has issued a warning to Murray State University of a moderate risk of a power outage.

The Murray State men’s basketball home game scheduled for Thursday, January 23rd has been moved up to a 3 p.m. tip off at the CFSB Center due to the potential electrical outage from the extreme cold weather the area is experiencing.

A portion of the TVA's contract with Murray State says that they can require the university to shut off power in instances where electricity is in short supply. The university had to shut off their power earlier this month because of a TVA mandate.

The university reports that even if a power outage occurs, electricity is expected to remain in the residence halls, college courts and Winslow Dining Hall.
