CALDWELL COUNTY, Ky.  - The Kentucky State Police has charged two people in connection to a bank robbery that occurred around noon on Monday.

A lone suspect entered the Fredonia Valley Bank and demanded money from the tellers, who complied with his demands. The suspect then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money in a white Chevrolet S10 pickup truck.

Troopers and detectives from the KSP Post 2 and the Caldwell County Sheriff's Department responded and began the search for the suspect.

A trooper later located the suspect's vehicle around 1:45 p.m. on Nichols Road. He ordered the people inside the truck to stop, but they instead accelerated and attempted to hit the trooper. He fired a round at the approaching vehicle, but didn't hit either suspect. The vehicle continued to flee onto , and then onto a gravel and dirt road where Caldwell County Sheriff Stan Hudson struck the vehicle with his cruiser.
