Victim of backyard rape speaks out
CALLOWAY COUNTY, KY- On Monday afternoon a woman was in the backyard of her Murray-Paris Road home. The woman, who we are calling 'Sarah' was tending chickens when she says she was startled.
"I just heard a footstep and turned around," she said, adding, "It was a man with a gun."
'Sarah' was ordered to the ground and says she was raped at gunpoint.
During the 5 minute ordeal, Sarah says she thought only of her two young daughters inside the home she shares with her husband.
"That's what scared me. I brought 'em inside to take a nap, just thank God they were inside."
She described the attacker as a thin, white man, about 30-40 years old. She says he was bald and had no facial hair.
Before he left, she says, he told her she was his 3rd victim.
Calloway County Sheriff Bill Marcum said Tuesday he was checking with neighboring counties to see if rapes had been reported.
'Sarah' plans to buy a gun and says she and her husband will move. Anyone with information is asked to call the Calloway County Sheriff's Department.
